Strode Park Foundation - Herne Bay - Kent offers two
beautifully equipped self catering holiday bungalows, designed
to enable disabled people and their families to enjoy a holiday
break in tranquil surroundings. Each Bungalow has two double
bedrooms with single beds, one of which is height adjustable.
Overhead tracking with electric hoist run from each bedroom into
the shower/toilet.
No 31 - Christchurch - Dorset is a self-catering wheelchair
accessible bungalow. The owner is a wheelchair user and has
lived happily there from 1996 to 2005. Separate ceiling hoists
in main bedroom and the bathroom. Both ceiling hoists are
battery back up powered, so they will function in the event of a
power cut.
Belle Vue Holiday Home, Ventnor, Isle of Wight
Self
catering house sleeps up to 8, ground floor suitable for wheelchair users with
downstairs bedroom containing ceiling hoist, electric Invacare bed + single bed,
with access to rear garden, and having wet room ensuite with luxury shower
chair/commode. Property is accessed from the parking space via an external lift
to the front patio area, or steps if lift not required. Sea views from front
patio, lounge/kitchen/dining room and side sea view from rear courtyard garden
area. There are an additional 3 bedrooms upstairs two of which have sea views,
and a shower room. Ventnor is based on the south side of the island, and is a
good base from which to explore the rest of the Isle of Wight.
The ceiling hoist is only over the two beds, however we do have a luxury
shower chair/commode in which a person can be hoisted then can be wheeled
straight into the wet room for either a shower or to use the toilet as the chair
can be wheeled over the toilet as well. It is a Robin Mover ceiling hoist which
rises with a motor but glides manually via the track.

Beach Lodge - Felpham - Sussex is an adapted 5 bedroom house
overlooking the sea. A large adapted property for wheelchair
users suits larger parties of up to 9. The house has three twin
rooms, one double and one single, bed linen is not included.
Access to this split-level property is via a lift. Ceiling track

Original Barn has now been turned into a unit let as self-catering
accommodation (6 twin bedrooms - with overhead hoist in 2 rooms). There are excellent views towards Poole
Harbour and the surrounding countryside.
The dining room balcony is a favourite sitting area to watch birds or enjoy
the views across Poole Harbour to the Purbeck Hills beyond.
The
sitting room veranda (facing south) opens up to a sheltered paved area,
garden with raised beds and wildlife pond. THE BARN offers flexible
accommodation suitable for disabled people, carers and those looking for a
break from the stresses and strains of life or work.
Petasfield Stables & Cottages - Hertford, Hertfordshire. There are 4
cottages converted from stables. Ashwell Cottage has a double bedroom and a
galleried second bedroom that also sleeps two. The cottage has a large
comfortable sofa bed in the living area. The furniture can be arranged to
suit your tastes so that you feel completely at home. All cottages have
Broadband internet access. There is a voyager ceiling track hoist and a
wheel in shower.

This
attractive lodge is situated on a small and peaceful holiday park in rural
Shropshire and has lovely views across a lake.
The two bedroomed property (sleeping up to six) has been especially designed
by the owners for wheelchair accessibility and there is ample internal
turning space for large electric chairs.
However
please note the kitchen and double bedroom are not wheelchair accessible so
this would not be suitable for non weight bearing independent wheelchair
users.
Guests are advised to bring their own slings for the hoist although there is
one on site. The hoist is in the bedroom only and there is a shower chair
available.

7A Sussex Beach Holiday Village, Bracklesham Bay, W Sussex
The chalet was purchased by the Association at the end of 2004. It has been
completely refurbished and consists of one double bedded room which has a
ceiling hoist and a single bedded room. There is a sofa bed in the lounge.
The chalet has a wheel-in shower room, a small kitchen with fridge, hob,
oven and microwave and a dining/lounge area with a television. Outside there
is a decking area with garden furniture.
Set in 65 acres of parkland adjacent to 7 miles of beach, the chalet offers
