The house is arranged to make the most of the incredible sea views with four bedrooms on the ground floor and living accommodation upstairs. We strive to provide a high quality of accommodation whilst also ensuring excellent facilities for our mobility impaired guests; allowing everyone to really enjoy a break. Seastar has been created from first hand knowledge of living with disability and we understand it just has to be right. Our facilities include; profiling beds, ceiling hoist, through floor lift, wet room, shower / commode chair and more. We can easily accommodate extended family or carers and in our first season the feedback has been excellent with many immediate repeat bookings.
Deal itself is a quiet seafront town with over three miles of level promenade and the only pleasure pier remaining in Kent. In January 2014 it won The Telegraph’s High Street of the Year award and in March 2014 was named by The Times as one of the ‘Top 30 weekend retreats’. It is a little known gem with its quirky shops, conservation area, free Sunday concerts at the bandstand, free paddling pool and beautiful coastline. Beyond Deal, within a 10 mile radius of Seastar, you can visit three castles and three championship links golf courses, the beautiful medieval town of Sandwich and a little further afield the historic city of Canterbury. It is also a fabulous base for a day trip to France and exploring the garden of England and its many attractions.

This is a brilliant place. It has all the equipment you could want and so much space! We had a family gathering of 15 and comfortably sat around the humongous table. A warm and stylish bungalow. The wifi is fast too. We plan to go again.
Another bonus is that it is next to the watercress train line so every now and again a lovely locomotive chuffs by the kitchen window. A great location for travelling around the South.
Fantastic central location and good pies in the local pubs!

This place is amazing. Very spacious, clean with absolutely everything we needed. We rely on ceiling hoists to move my adult daughter from wheelchair to bed to reclining chair and were not disappointed.
The whole bungalow is beautifully furnished and very homely. A beautiful area with stunning views, very peaceful.

Why is there no shower commode chair available as it is not possible to get a person that is unable to stand or walk on to the Clos O Mat toilet. The old one you do have does not have a bucket and only has a 16 inch width seat which is not wide enough for the average wheelchair user.We were unable to make a booking this because of this.

A Place for Everybody
The bungalow is within walking distance of Dawlish and has spectacular, uninterrupted sea views. These can be enjoyed from the lounge/conservatory, or from the large paved terrace. One of the spacious bedrooms has an en-suite shower room, and there is an easily accessible ‘wheel in’ wet room which serves the rest of the property. The bungalow has level access to all areas, and there are various items of mobility equipment for use (please ask them for details).
The bungalow is set back on the Exeter Road between Dawlish and Dawlish Warren. There is ample parking for two large vehicles, and additional parking in the public lay-by just yards away. The property has a reasonably sized porch, large enough for a wheelchair, and hanging space for coats. The porch opens onto a spacious hallway via a sliding door, which leads to the rest of the bungalow. The first bedroom on your left has bunk beds, with two full size single mattresses. Opposite is a twin room which contains the hospital bed and the ceiling-track hoist. The spacious wet room has non-slip flooring. The hallway then narrows and a further en-suite double bedroom leads off. The kitchen is also accessed from this hallway, and eventually the hallway opens into a large lounge/conservatory. These two rooms can be either opened up as one room or closed off in the winter, when you might want to have a cosy night around the log burning stove; you may even wish to use the lounge as a 4th bedroom. There is comfortable seating for up to 8 guests, and further dining facilities also for 8. There is a large terrace with panoramic views, and various items of garden furniture for use by guests.

This is a lovely place to stay. Very clean and all the staff couldn’t be more helpful if there is anything you need. Very good disabled accommodation, good size bedroom, massive wetroom and good size doorways. There is level access to and from the accommodation and over the whole site. Hoist is an H frame which runs from bedroom in to the bathroom which made it incredibly easy to use. We only found one problem, which was the full profile bed was a divan style. The problem was very quickly resolved by the staff. They had some blocks specifically to help raise the bed off the floor, so you could get close enough to the bed for dressing, turning, manual handling, the person requiring it. All in all we had a fantastic time and would 100% recommend Gwel an Mor.

AHA31
Number 31 is a self-catering wheelchair accessible bungalow in Christchurch, Dorset.
We cater for up to 6 people in 2 bedrooms each with 2 single beds and a bed settee in the lounge. One bedroom has an overhead ceiling hoist running from one side of the room to the other and over both single beds. One of the beds is an adjustamatic profiling bed. There is also a smart TV in front of the profiling bed.
The bathroom also has a ceiling hoist that goes from the clos o mat toilet (wash and blow dry) and into the wheel in shower area. There is a drop down seat attached to the wall plus an attendant propelled shower chair that will go over the loo as well as into the shower area.
The kitchen is low level wheelchair accessible, so non wheelchair users people will need to use a chair to wash up!
We have a conservatory overlooking a large patio area. The rest of the garden is grass with borders of shrubs and trees. The conservatory has a separate cloakroom/utility room, with 2nd toilet, basin, washing machine and domestic items.
The lounge diner has 2 comfortable sofas, leaving plenty of room for a couple of wheelchair users. There is a TV (Freeview), DVD and video player plus a small hi fi system.
As you can see from the photograph there is plenty of room for 2 vehicles on the driveway.
Because we have so much equipment we tend to fill the summer weeks up very quickly, so book early to avoid disappointment.
The bungalow is approximately 1 mile from the town centre and Christchurch Quay where you can enjoy the accessible WheelyBoat. It is just 6 miles away from Bournemouth and 10 from Lyndhurst in the New Forest. Stonehenge and the Jurassic Coast are just an hour away by car.

A superb holiday home! We have stayed here twice and thoroughly enjoyed both visits. Helen, the host is extremely helpful and accommodating. The property is spacious and to a very high standard with excellent disabled facilities. The bedrooms are lovely, light and comfortable. Downstairs there are different options for socialising together or spreading out. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. There is a beautiful garden to the back as well as two different outdoor seating areas. Lots of interesting places to visit from here, or enjoy the house and gardens. We highly recommend Redlands.

Wales - Pembrokeshire
Hampton Court Holiday Park, Pembrokeshire
Hampton Court Holiday Park is a small friendly family run holiday park set in the heart of the beautiful area of Pembrokeshire and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in West Wales.
The Park itself is about six miles from the harbour town of Saundersfoot and about 3 miles from the market town of Narberth whilst the Pembrokeshire county town of Haverfordwest is thirteen miles. So we are conveniently located to explore the area and take in the various views whether you wish to do so by wheelchair on one of the ever increasing accessible footways or simply enjoying some fish and chips in your car on the harbour front at Saundersfoot whilst watching the boats come in with the tide.
The park is owned and run by us the Russ family. We live on the park with our children one of whom is profoundly disabled and a wheelchair user and it is this reason we decided to start catering for the disabled holiday market. We realised that as our son gets older and bigger it has become very difficult if not impossible to find truly accessible accommodation to go on holiday in and most importantly that there do not appear to be many places offering the facilities my family and I need in a “normal and inclusive setting”.
We decided we were in a unique position to try and do something about this and so designed the log cabin we are currently offering for hire as a holiday destination on a holiday park with other holiday makers but in accommodation built (not adapted) for the wheelchair user. We have equipped the cabin with a variety of things that we think will be of use to a lot of wheelchair users particularly those who require carer assisted hoisting.

Not as advertised
Though the people letting this property are lovely, this property is not as advertised.
The access into property is very steep with a lip at the top and not doable for active wheelchair users. The kitchen is not adapted.
There are no views from the garden which it says there are...the garden which consists of mainly slabbed and concreted areas and the 'patio' consists of plastic chairs on a car standing.
Very run down and lots of repairs and maintenance needed, very dated bedrooms and needs a deep clean...cobwebs and dirt in all corners, broken flooring etc. Broken trampoline. Broken/leaky showers.Weeds...you get the picture.
Disabled room smelled of mould and stale urine and is freezing, no central heating in this property. On top of this the accessible bathroom is part of the bedroom, there is no door so you're looking at the loo when you're in bed, very disability medical model and might explain the horrible smell in the room. Room not set up for couples though there is another bed so you could ask for them to be moved together. Though they seem to provide some continence products and various aids these are all on show in the bedroom/bathroom which isn't great either.
The listing suggests this is luxury accommodation but couldn't be further from it, we have stayed at Gwel an Mor which is what we would class as luxury, this is more like 2 star at best but prices are the same as a 5 star property.
Very disappointing. We booked a week but only stayed one night as the place was filthy and accessible bedroom/bathroom was unacceptable.
Owners offered to clean again but it was beyond cleaning. And they offered a full refund but we suggest you ask for more photos and clarifications all these issues have been solved before booking. Photos are not accurate or up to date and don't show bathroom set up.
It is only 5 minutes from black rock sands which was the only redeeming feature besides offering ceiling track and profiling bed (very hard mattress).
Very sad to have driven all this way and had to go home.

Reviews of Clober Farm
Elizabeth “I used Clober Farm for an overnight stay when travelling down from Dundee to a Rugby match at Scotstoun. It was an absolutely fantastic experience and my only regret was not booking a few more days so as to really enjoy the house! It’s so reasonably priced compared to a hotel or B&B, and you know exactly what you’re getting; there’s no worry about which definition of ’accessible’ has been used when describing the facilities, everything has been thought about with contemporary, independent living at its core.”
