Astoria 7 Hotel has opened one of the best rooms in the world for wheelchair users, as a result of an ambitious project focused on accessible tourism.The hotel was built on the site of the old Astoria cinema and has a film theme throughout.

The accessible 'Travolta' suite has a bed to bathroom ceiling track hoist along with a host of home automation features such as remote control door opening and closing and remote control blinds, lights and entertainment systems.

The double room has a ceiling track hoist that supports 200 kilograms and connects the bedroom and the bathroom (toilet and shower) with a 6 metre long track.

The hotel also has two additional accessible rooms fitted with a ceiling track for a hoist which can be hired if several hoist users wanted to travel together
